Edith Peskin

Edith Peskin, 101, died March 21, 2024 Trumbull Memorial Hospital with her family by her side.

She was born in 1922 in Plavia, Czechoslovakia, a daughter of Dora and Adolph Katz. Her family emigrated to US in 1929, and they settled in Farrell, PA.

After high school she dated the love of her life, Marvin Peskin. They were married in 1945 and had a beautiful, long and loving relationship for 60 years.

Edie was a lifelong volunteer at her Synagogues, the Jewish Community Center, Heritage Manor and Na' Amat.

Her greatest joy was maintaining a warm Jewish home where she raised her four children, Shelly (Tamara) Gerry (Jeannie) Debbie (Max), and Karen (Meir). 

Edie's home has always served as the epicenter of the family, bringing together multiple generations of loved ones from all over the country.

Her loving grandchildren are Daria, Kenny (Stephanie) and Ben, Joshua, Pamela, Nathaniel, Paula, Danny, Sammy (Shir), Rachel (Austin), Zack (Malki) and Joey.

Her great-grandchildren are Liora, Molly, Seth, Lea, Mikey, Abby and Kira. Being surrounded by family always brought Edie tremendous joy.

Besides her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her beloved brothers, Dr. Milton Katz and Dr. Kenneth Katz.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30pm, Sunday March 24th in Itts Memorial Chapel at Anshe Emeth Cemetery on Granada Avenue.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Edie's memory may be made to Temple El Emeth or Na'Amat.
