GIRARD-Ronald Golden, 65, of Girard beloved father and friend passed away unexpectedly at his home on Tuesday October 22nd, 2019.
Born in Youngstown on September 25, 1954 to Nathan “Red” and Bessie (Lackey) Golden.
Following graduation from high school, Ron enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. and proudly served for several years as a Lance Corporal before receiving his honorable discharge. He returned home to attend the police academy and begin his career in law enforcement which would go on to last for more than thirty-years. During his career he served with the Youngstown Police Department, Mahoning County Sheriffs Department, and lastly with the St. Elizabeth's Police Department from where he retired in 2016.
He was the proud and devoted father to his children James Golden, Lucy Golden, and Robert Golden all of Girard; beloved brother to Jacalyn Golden of Solon, OH and Hope (Joseph) Golubich of New Middletown, OH; and by his former spouse and best friend Phyllis DeFiore-Golden.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Services will be at 12:30PM Friday, October 25th, 2019 at the Shriver-Allison-Courtley-Weller-King Funeral Home at 292 Madison Avenue Youngstown, followed by interment at the Ohev Tzedek Cemetery.
