Benita Mae Penner, 79, passed March 1st, 2020.
Benita was born August 10, 1940 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Florence and Harry Browarsky. She moved to Youngstown in 1950 and graduated from the Knox School in St. James, NY in 1959.
She attended Youngstown State University for a short time until she met and married David Penner. They married June 9, 1963 and were together until his death last September.
Her hobbies included reading and knitting. Her big joy in her life was coming down to Columbus where she watched her grandson play baseball.
She was a long-time member of Rodef Sholom and Sisterhood.
Benita is survived by her daughter Harriet, son-in-law Erik, and beloved grandson, Holden.
She is preceded in death by her sister Rachel Golden, her mother Florence, father Harry, and step-father Maurice Lipscher.
The funeral will be held at 1:00pm, Wednesday, March 4, 2020 in Shriver-Allison-Courtly-Weller-King Funeral Home

Family and friends may call from Noon - 1:00pm prior to service at the Funeral Home.
Interment will follow at Rodef Sholom Cemetery.
