Graveside services will be held Sunday December 6th in Mission Hills California for Henry Adler, 96 who passed away on Tuesday December 2nd peacefully at Assumption Village Nursing Home, North Lima, Ohio. Henry was born on November 30, 1924 in Brooklyn NY, 1 of 4 sons to Hyman and Sadie Adler. He was in the US Navy and served during WWII on several different ships, mainly in the Philippines from 1943-1946.
Henry was a salesman most of his life, selling many different things. He was an avid reader, sometimes reading an entire book in several days. The library was one of his favorite places and everyone knew him at his local branch. He was a huge sports fan, with all the Los Angeles teams being his favorites.
He is survived by his daughter Maureen (Ken) McCowin of Canfield Ohio , two sons Andrew (Ellen) Adler, Neal (Edie) Adler, all of California. He also leaves behind 3 grandsons, Evan, Benjamin (Ashley) and Samuel, a great grandson Landen and a nephew Bob (Sara) Adler of Washington DC.
Besides his parents, Henry was preceded in death by his first wife Sallie Zorn of New York and his second wife Harriette Shapiro also of New York and 3 brothers Ben, Mac and Milton Adler.
