Jack Sigler Obituary

Jack Sigler, 69,  passed away at home in Youngstown on September 6, 2020. Funeral service and burial occurred on September 7 at The Tifereth Israel Cemetery in New Castle, Pa..

He was born in New Castle to Reuven and Irene Sigler on March 18, 1951.

Jack led his life guided by rules of Orthodox Judaism. He was an active member of Children of Israel Congregation in Youngstown, attending and participating in all religious services and learning opportunities. Most often Jack would be the first to arrive and the last to leave. Jack formed long standing personal relationships with current and past rabbis of Children of Israel, including Rabbi David Merkin of Passaic, New Jersey, Rabbi Mordechai Rindenow of Israel, and Rabbi Elisar Admon of Pittsburgh. Rabbis Merkin and Admon led the funeral service.

Jack was known by many in the community, volunteering to assist with errands and rides. Jack never wanted to impose on others, but was always available with a helping hand.

In addition to his friends at Children of Israel, Jack leaves his brother, Phil (Rose) Sigler of New Jersey and cousins, including Darlene Muller and Rick Saul of Youngstown. Also mourning the loss are special friends Bob Kranitz of Youngstown and Serida Perez of New Hampshire.

Donations in his memory may be made to Congregation Children of Israel, 3970 Loganway, Youngstown, OH. 44505.
