Larry Duff Obituary

Larry Duff, 65, of Youngstown passed away on December 12, 2021 in the Greenbriar Nursing Home.

He was born November 22, 1956 in Pittsburgh, PA. a son of the late Richard and Ann McCartney Duff.

Larry was a 1975 graduate of Austintown Fitch High School.

He was well known at the local McDonalds and Wendys whose employees were very kind. Larry’s last four years were spent living with brother Gary while fighting cancer. He was Gary’s faithful companion and great friend and brother and enjoyed church activities, car shows and collecting bicycles. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed going to YSU sport events and he was a good athlete and basketballer as well. Larry went to basketball camp with Pistol Pete and Kareem Abdul Jabbar in junior HS. He loved to be with family and friends. His sense of humor, being a loving friend and brother and love of 60s music was a key and essential part of his life. He was an Army Vet and helped serve dinners and volunteered at various charity locations.

Larry was the focal point of the family and the whole family spent time with him in his last few months and recently celebrated his birthday together. Larry was loved by his neighbors and friends and was a welcome guest. Though he was not able to drive, Larry enjoyed riding his modified tractor around the yard.  He was a big brother to his wonderful sisters Brianne and Sharyn who adored him.

He leaves his loving sisters, Brianne (Sam) and Sharyn and brothers: Ted (Tony), Gary and Rick (Rebecca) along with nephews, Avery, Finley and Liam and niece Jill. Larry was able to travel and enjoyed many exciting adventures and experiences with his father, Richard.

We appreciate the special care that the Hope Cancer Center, Greenbriar Nursing Home, Mercy Health and Cleveland Clinic provided for Larry.

Larry will be missed every day the rest of our lives. A private family memorial service will be held on Jan. 22, 2022.
