Mrs. Lucille Vegh, 87 of Liberty Township, passed-away peacefully in her home on July 11th surrounded by family. Lucille was born April 25th, 1933 in Hazelton, PA, daughter of Martin and Regina Blau.
She was a member of El Emeth Synagogue and attended services regularly. The Synagogue was an integral part of her life through which she maintained many life-long friends. She was active in many related organizations including Sisterhood, N’amat and their Bowling League, and was responsible for the compliance of the Jewish Dietary Laws in the synagogue’s Kitchen. Lucille married William Vegh (Holocaust Survivor) on June 29th, 1952. She and Bill raised a family and lived a wonderful long life together. She was a wonderful cook and attained family fame for her special dishes.
Lucille was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and two brothers, Alfred and Emery. She is survived by her three children, Judy Joffe of Natick, MA, Rochelle Miller (Sam) of Liberty Township, and Marc Vegh of Oklahoma City, OK. She also leaves Lisa Vegh and grandchildren Brian, Seth, Cara (Ryan), Leah (Stu), Cameron (Tiffany), Khale, and Mikhal. She also leaves five great grandchildren, Caden, Carson, Harper, Mara, and London. The family is indebted for the love and support of Lucille’s caregivers, Natalie Barnes, Andrea Johnson, Kim Knofsky, and Loretta Scott.
Graveside services will be held at 11:30 on Tuesday, July 14th at the El Emeth Cemetery on Granada Ave. in Youngstown. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the William Vegh Holocaust Fund, 505 Gypsy Lane, Youngstown, OH 44504 as well as Temple El Emeth General or Sisterhood Fund.
