Youngstown-
Marie Williams, age 98, passed away on March 2, 2022, at Heritage Manor. Marie was born June 25, 1923, daughter of Rachel Fedida and Saul Danino in Casablanca, Morocco.
Marie was a secretary/interpreter for the U.S. Army based in Casablanca where she met and married Sgt Warren Williams during his service in World War II. When his service time was over, they moved to his hometown of Youngstown.
Marie was on the board of the Youngstown Motion Picture Council and enjoyed lunch with stars when they came to Youngstown. She was a member of Rodef Sholom Temple and served as social vice president, financial secretary, treasurer and president of sisterhood. She was a lifelong member of Hadassah and served on many committees.
Marie leaves her daughter Diane (Dick) Schwartz with whom she made her home, son, Gary Williams, sister Perla Danino in Israel, grandchildren, and nieces.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Warren, son James, brothers Solomon and Joseph and sister Tamar of Israel.
Due to Covid 19, there are no calling hours and private services will be held in the Rodef Sholom section of Tod Cemetery.
