Graveside service will be held at Noon, Sunday, October 23, 2022, at Mt. Olive Cemetery in Solon for Marvin Lukin, 94 who died Tuesday in Heritage Manor.
Marvin was born on February 12, 1928 in Cleveland the oldest child of Adolph and Yeda Babkow Lukin.
He graduated from John Adams High School and went to Ohio State for a few years and transferred to Ohio University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry.
Marvin was drafted into the Army in1951 and stationed at the Army Quartermaster Center, Fort Lee, Virginia. After Army he went to Case Western Reserve University for his Masters and Ph.D. in Chemistry and went to work at Mellon Institute in Pittsburgh. He received a Post-Doctoral Fellowship at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in NY. He met Judith Turkeltaub and they married January 1, 1962. He became a professor of Biochemistry and taught biochemistry to students in the Medical and Health Profession at YSU until he retired Professor Emeritus in 1996.
He was a proud father of two sons Jonathan and Joshua, both deceased.
Marvin was an avid reader, Scholar and very committed to Science, Devoted father, and a Believer in Social Justice. He was a great lover of Classical Music.
He is survived by wife of 60 years, Judy and a daughter-in-law Ann Keefer of Philadelphia, PA. and a sister, Iris Bobrow of Sacramento, CA.
Besides his parents and his sons, he is preceded in death by his sister Sylvia.
