Norene Udell

Norene Udell, 85, passed away peacefully on July 23, 2022, in her residence at the Levy Gardens Assisted Living Facility in Youngstown, Ohio, where she called home since 2016.

 Norene was born at home in Sharon, PA on April 11, 1937, the youngest of 5 children to Terrence and Helen (Roberts) Meenihan.

Formerly of Liberty Township, Norene was the beloved wife of Allen Udell, married on May 13, 1961, and devoted mother to her two children – Lori and Curtis, and a loving Cousin, Aunt, Great-Aunt, and Grandmother. A talented worker, Norene worked at Beneta Aluminum and Hubbard Estates , and was the inaugural General Manager of the HUD Towers Building when it opened in the 1980’s. She later became a Certified Manicurist and co-owned Head to Toe, a Salon on Belmont Ave. until retiring.

Norene was preceded in death by her daughter Lori (9/15/2005) and her husband of 45 years Allen (12-05-2006), her parents, two older brothers - George and Terrance Meenihan, and two older sisters – Patricia Huncik and Rita Bartel. She is survived by her son, Curtis and his wife Heather, and her grandchildren - Jacob (Coby) and Alana Lauren Udell.

Funeral services will be held graveside on Monday, July 25, at 10:30 at the Temple El Emeth Cemetery at 588 Granada Ave in Youngstown., OH (Granada and Guadalupe Ave) and available via Zoom. Norene will be interred next to her beloved Lori and Allen’s final resting place. Shiva will be observed at the Udell Residence in Rockville, MD and will be available through Zoom.
