Robyn Rusnak Riley

Robyn Rusnak Riley passed away on the evening of June 13th, 2023 at the age of 59 at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Youngstown, Ohio. 

Robyn was born on February 3, 1964 in Youngstown to Jack and Elayne Rusnak. She was the youngest of three children. 

Robyn met her devoted husband of 32 years, Albert Riley III, when they were just 14 years old. Anyone who knew them knew they truly loved each other and spending time together – whether it was shopping, eating out, traveling to Cape Cod, or simply taking care of their dog, Bailey, and cat, Baxter. In later years Albert devoted all his energy to lovingly care for Robyn as her health declined.

Robyn was a graduate of Youngstown State University with a bachelor’s degree in Education. She went on to obtain her master’s degree in Counseling from YSU and began her 30+ year career as a mental health therapist, later transitioning into private practice. During her long career she helped hundreds of people and her patients adored her, many staying with her for years and years. In her last days Robyn was on the phone with her clients making sure they were ok even as she was losing her battle with her own illness.

Robyn was extremely strong and principled and she fought her illness until the very end. She will be missed each and every day.

Robyn leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving husband Albert Riley, mother Elayne Rusnak, sister Jill Cahn (Stephen), brother Joel Rusnak (Cheryl), and her nieces and nephews. 

She was predeceased by her loving father Jack Rusnak.

The family would like to thank Dr. Nathan Doe and Dr. Ralph Rothenberg for all of their kindness and care over the years.

A memorial service will be held at Temple El Emeth (3970 Logan Way, Youngstown, OH 44505) on July 16th at 1 pm.
